This has been my coffee beverage of choice recently. For my taste, it is the perfect balance of milk and espresso. For the most part, a cappuccino is a latte with less milk and more foam. Here is how I make mine.
Tech Stack
- Espresso machine. I use a manual espresso machine, but you can use any espresso machine you like.
- Milky frother. This is a device that froths milk. There are many different types. I use a handheld one.
- Milk frothing pitcher. A small metal pitcher that you will heat, and froth the milk in.
- Scale. I use a digital scale to measure my coffee and milk. It is not necessary, but it is helpful.
- 6 oz or larger cup or glass. This is the vessel you will drink your cappuccino out of.
Variables
- 36g Espresso Shot. This is the base ingredient for a Cappuccino.
- 105g (3.7 ounces) milk. I use whole milk, but you can use any kind you like.
Executables
- Pull a shot of Espresso into your cup. If you are using a manual Espresso machine, follow the instructions in my Espresso recipe.
- Froth the milk in your milk frothing pitcher. Check out my milk frothing guide for a more in-depth explanation.
- Pour the milk into the cup with the espresso. If you know how to do latte art, now is the time.
Console
Since there is no flavoring and less milk than other coffee beverages, espresso is the prominent flavor. Take the time to dial in your espresso shot for the best results.
Enjoy!
